Privacy Policy
Last updated June 2026
This policy explains what information Epiqara (operated by Epiqara LLC) collects across our website and our iOS apps, and how we use it. We keep data collection deliberately minimal — you can use our site and apps without an account or telling us who you are.
What we collect on the website
Information you give us. When you use our contact form, we receive your name, email, and message so we can reply. It's the only form on the site, and your email is used solely to respond to you.
Browsing & usage data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps — for security and to keep the site running.
Aggregate analytics. We use Vercel's privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand anonymous, aggregate traffic. It sets no cookies and doesn't track you across other sites — see our cookie notice.
Our apps
Our iOS apps are built to be privacy-forward and on-device-first. They share a common approach:
- No account. None of our apps require a sign-up, email, or password.
- Your content stays on your device. Data is stored locally and, where an app offers sync, through your own private iCloud account (via Apple) — not our servers. Aquavail, Avodek, and Qaravo keep everything on-device; Epiqara, Loggnit, and ShotPost sync through your private iCloud; Founding Minds stores data on-device and syncs only purchase state through Apple.
- No tracking. Our apps contain no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we don't sell or share your data.
- Optional AI, processed by xAI. Several apps offer AI features (Aquavail, Avodek, Epiqara, Founding Minds, Loggnit, and Qaravo). They are opt-in. When you use them, only the minimum needed for that request — never your identity — is sent through our secure backend proxy to xAI (Grok) for processing. For example, Epiqara sends scene tags, hour-rounded times, and approximate locations — never your photos; Loggnit sends only an activity description and body metrics. Once data reaches xAI, its use is governed by xAI's privacy policy, which we also link from within the apps. ShotPost has no AI and runs entirely on-device.
- Purchases are handled by Apple (StoreKit), including Family Sharing — we never see your payment details.
- Device permissions (such as Photos in Epiqara, or Apple Health and Location in Loggnit) are requested only for the feature that needs them, are optional, and are controlled by you in iOS Settings.
Each app's specific data practices are also summarized on its App Store listing (Apple's privacy labels) and within the app.
How we use information
To operate, secure, and improve our site and apps, and to respond to what you send us. We do not sell your personal information, we don't show advertising, and we don't share the email you give us except as needed to run the service.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of reputable providers — including Vercel (website hosting and cookieless analytics), Fastmail (email), Supabase (the backend that hosts our apps' AI proxy), and xAI (AI processing for opt-in app features). They process data on our behalf to deliver the service.
How long we keep information
We keep things only as long as we need them. Messages sent through the contact form are retained only long enough to respond and follow up, and we delete them on request. Because we don't run accounts, there's no profile to keep — your app content lives on your device or in your own iCloud, not on our servers, and AI requests aren't stored by us once processed.
How we protect information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we handle — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and a backend proxy that keeps our AI credentials off your device. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but because we collect so little, there is very little about you for us to expose.
Your rights and choices
Because we collect so little, there isn't much to manage — but wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you (in practice, an email you've sent us), and to receive a copy of it. We don't sell or share your personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of there, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. You won't be treated differently for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, email legal@epiqara.com.
You can also manage things yourself: any email you send us is optional and removable on request, you can browse the website with a cookie- or tracker-blocking browser without losing functionality, and in our apps AI features are opt-in and can be turned off while you control system permissions (Photos, Location, Apple Health) in iOS Settings.
EEA & UK users. If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have these rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR. We process your information to operate and secure our services (our legitimate interests), to reply when you contact us (at your request), and — for AI features — with your consent. As we're based in the United States, the limited data described above is processed in the US. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Epiqara is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
